Pinwheel Sandwiches Party Bites (Print)

Colorful tortilla pinwheels with cream cheese, spinach, cheese, and crisp veggies; chilled and sliced.

# Ingredient list:

→ Breads & Spreads

01 - 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch each)
02 - 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
03 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

→ Vegetables

04 - 1 cup baby spinach leaves
05 - 1 medium carrot, julienned or shredded
06 - 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced

→ Dairy & Protein

07 - 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
08 - 4 slices deli turkey or ham (optional)

→ Seasonings

09 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# Directions:

01 - Combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and evenly blended.
02 - Lay tortillas flat on a clean cutting board. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over each tortilla, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
03 - Arrange baby spinach leaves in a single layer on top of the spread. Lay cheese slices over the spinach, then distribute carrot and red bell pepper evenly.
04 - If preferred, place deli turkey or ham slices over the vegetables and cheese.
05 - Starting from one edge, roll each tortilla into a tight log. Repeat with all tortillas.
06 - Wrap each rolled tortilla in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
07 - Remove plastic wrap and use a sharp knife to cut each roll into 1-inch pinwheels.
08 - Arrange pinwheels on a serving platter. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Everyone is charmed when these pinwheels arrive at the table, and they disappear in minutes.
  • It’s a great make-ahead option, and I secretly love nibbling on the scraps while prepping.
02 -
  • Tried to skip chilling the rolls once, and instantly regretted the floppy, smushed mess.
  • Swapping in hummus worked surprisingly well for a dairy-free friend—the rolls held up just as nicely.
03 -
  • Serrated knives work better than straight ones for neat slices.
  • A damp paper towel under the cutting board keeps it from sliding as you cut.
