A warming Irish-inspired coffee topped with whipped cream and brown sugar sweetness.

# Ingredient list:

→ Coffee Base

01 - 1 1/2 cups freshly brewed strong coffee, hot

→ Sweetener

02 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar

→ Cream Topping

03 - 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
04 - 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
05 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Garnish

06 - Pinch of cocoa powder or ground nutmeg

# Directions:

01 - Brew strong coffee and distribute evenly between two heatproof glasses or mugs, filling each about three-quarters full.
02 - Add 1 tablespoon brown sugar to each glass. Stir thoroughly until completely dissolved.
03 - In a chilled mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with hand mixer or whisk until soft peaks form and mixture holds its shape.
04 - Gently spoon whipped cream over the back of a tablespoon onto each coffee drink, creating a distinct floating layer. Do not stir.
05 - Lightly dust with cocoa powder or nutmeg if desired. Serve immediately while coffee remains hot.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The whipped cream creates an incredibly luxurious texture that slowly infuses the coffee as you sip
  • Perfect for when you want all the comfort of Irish coffee without any alcohol
02 -
  • The whipped cream must go over the back of a spoon, otherwise it will plunge straight through the hot coffee
  • Room temperature cream will never whip properly, no matter how long you beat it
03 -
  • Add a drop of almond or hazelnut extract to the coffee for a bakery style flavor twist
  • Use a glass with a wide mouth so the cream layer stays thick and luxurious
